The African whale drum (or Tongue Drum) is a wonderful wooden tone-based percussion instrument with a warm marimba like tone. The whale drum is based on the traditional African slit drums, which is made by carving out “slits” in a hollow piece of wood, which helps bring more resonance to the instrument.
